I haven’t been able to sleep much at all…
I keep waking up from nightmares, painful chills and panic attacks.
Today a friend suggested “sleeping with my eyes open”..in other words Lucid Dreaming. (coincidentally there was also a post on my dash about it.)
He told me it’ll get rid of the nightmares since I’ll be able to control what I’m dreaming.
He said It’ll get rid of the chills because my body will be in deep rest, feeling like nothing but dead weight.
And the panic attacks…they’ll minimize in intensity and number of times that occur in a day…
I’m driven by curiosity to try it…but like everything else, it has its pros and cons…mostly cons…
the pros:
- better sleep
- no nightmares
- body relaxation
the cons:
- not 100% safe
- high chances of not “returning”
- could be permanent depending on you circumstances
- won’t be able to physically move to try to wake up
- addiction
- alienation
- dissociation
- increase in fear
I’ve heard all kinds of resulting stories from Lucid Dreaming..both good and bad from family, friends, and other people with experience in sleep paralysis.
I’m desperate to break free from sleep deprivation. All I’ve been wanting is to be able to lay down, relax, and sleep without any more problems…but..I’m too scared to try this while I’m alone…now I’m wondering if it’s worth the risk…
